If you’re looking for a great day to explore the island of Bermuda and its history, look for Lewis at Reliable Taxi Service. He showed us the best places for beautiful scenery and pictures as well as explaining the history and life of the island. He provided us with an authentic Bermuda experience, including local grilled fish on a quiet beach. What a fantastic guide and a fantastic day. While we could have been disappointed from our reception at the port check in, we were warmly received onboard and quickly found our cabin. The rest of the cruise has been fantastic. The staff and crew on this ship has been great at every level and the food on this ship is consistently the best we have ever experienced onboard a ship. The farewell crew talent show was the best entertainment we’ve seen in many years. So 5 stars for NCL for this itinerary and kudos to the entire staff and crew of the NCL Getaway.

Research and you won’t be disappointed.

We just finished our 9th Norwegian cruise. We’ve also cruised Royal and Carnival. This cruise was exactly wanted. We’ve been on the bigger ships and smaller. Each has their benefits. We loved a smaller ship for this experience. You are always in port, so getting off of the boat is the main point. The comedian, cirque style duo, and magician were typical cruise entertainment and the whole family enjoyed them. The food was the same as on every NCL boat. We thought things were maybe seasoned a little heavier, but it was pretty typical. Our agent told us to treat it as a floating hotel you can use to see the islands without repacking. If you go into it with that mentality, I don’t thing you’ll be disappointed. We found the crew to be pleasant and more laid back. We did not have any negative interactions the entire cruise. It was an older crowd, and most didn’t seem to be there to party. It was always easy to get a drink (I think I waited for then 5 minutes once.

Amazing Time!

We just got off the Treasure and wanted to share our experience. My husband and I traveled with our 2 children (10 and 5) and my father (grandpa) who stayed in a separate handicapped room because he required a rental scooter. We have sailed on multiple cruise lines but this was our second Disney Cruise and first time on the Treasure. I read many reviews and watched quite a few vlogs prior to sailing and felt as though some things were spot on and others not. Overall we had an incredible time. We had a full ship and things were busy but never felt over crowded. Some were right about the busyness of the activities, and I would also recommend arriving for more popular activities at least 15 minutes early. Activities I would consider arriving even earlier for are bingo, and karaoke. We tried to get in but were PACKED and inaccessible (especially on sea days). Pools/AquaMouse: I actually LOVED the multiple smaller pools vs the 1 or 2 larger pools. We were always able to find a spot and many were shallow enough to allow my 5 year old to play without me having to hold him in the water. It was phenomenal and I felt as though a huge upgrade from older ships. The aquamouse was fun and we rode multiple times. The lines were not bad at all (about a 5 minute wait) on port days. We didn’t go on sea days as the lines looked killer. Handicapped access: As far as handicapped access is concerned we felt it was more than adequate. The room was perfect, hallways easily accessible and ship maneuverable. My only tiny complaints are the narrowness of the elevators and the speed at which they close. You’ve gotta be quick! Even if you aren’t in a wheelchair/scooter! Dining: The buffet and festival of foods were all delicious. The burger line at the festival of foods is brutal though so if you’re craving that, pack your patience pants. We did the rotational dining and one night at Enchante’. The variety, temperature and taste of the food in the dining rooms was phenomenal for the fact that the kitchen has to produce thousands of plates a night. I always feel people don’t take this into account when critiquing. Also, my husband has a lactose allergy and the utmost care was taken to ensure he was accommodated. Enchante was INCREDIBLE. If you’ve got the ability to go, it’s a once in a lifetime experience. My ultimate and really only real complaint about this cruise was the atmosphere at 2 of the 3 dining rooms. 1923 was beautiful and perfect, but Worlds of Marvel and Coco were a different story. WoM was loud, felt overcrowded and the shows unfortunately didn’t keep our attention. They were difficult to hear and the timing of them was off. I imagine it can be difficult to time the whole dining rooms service to a show, but it just didn’t work for us. To be fair, we aren’t Marvel fans. Coco was worse for us unfortunately. I thought this was a cool concept and we enjoyed the food but the show was not only difficult to see from our table (3 rows deep from the stage), but also very loud. This combination lead to not being able to follow the show but also not being able to converse with our table mates. I don’t have any suggestions on how to make this better, and certainly someone in a different location may have a different opinion of the show. Spa Services: we went all out this trip. Got my husband a pedicure at hooks barbery and also booked the Zero Gravity float on air experience. The pedicure per my husband was awesome and he was able to enjoy a custom made old fashioned during his treatment from the bar there. He said it was the best one he’s ever had. Our Zero Gravity experience was also awesome, but I didn’t think the bed was life changing or anything. It just moved to adjust your legs and head so that they didn’t have to put towels underneath. It did include a foot scrub, private hot tub for 15 minutes and the 75 minute massage followed by tea and fruit. If you’re between a regular massage and this experience and are only going for the bed, I’d encourage you to spend less money and get the regular massage. Kids Clubs: our kids didn’t utilize the clubs much at all, so difficult for me to comment. The slide to get in is super fun and we had a great time exploring during open house. My 10 year old had a stuck in the middle experience as she was actually allowed in Edge (with our signed consent) and felt too young for this but too old for the kids club. My 5 year old was just not comfortable being without us. Service: listen people. Disney does this soooo right. I mean that’s why we’re paying all this money right? From our stateroom attendant, to our servers and everyone in-between, we didn’t have one negative experience with a crew member and every single one went out of their way to make our vacation extra special. I’d like to mention the garbage can situation here. Yes, there’s no flipping garbage cans anywhere, but I also dare you to find a piece of trash or a misplaced cup. These people work there bottoms off. Adult Only Area: yes, what you’ve read is correct. This area stinks. Nothing like the fantasy. It’s small, gets crowded and the hot tub is right under the AquaMouse where you hear kids screaming by and Mickey talking every 30 seconds. We didn’t go for this part of the ship but if you were looking forward to it I’m sorry. Worth mentioning that Cove Cafe here is totally worth a visit. My husband is a coffee snob and LOVED the variety of styles of coffee here. Fireworks: Pirate night got rained out but they rescheduled the fireworks for the next night which was nice. We recommend deck 12, opposite side of the AquaMouse entrance for viewing. Shows: The 3 stage productions were Seas the Adventure (played on day 1), Beauty and the Beast (Day 2, first day at sea) and Moana, (played the last day). These were alllll incredible. And totally worth seeing. They had 3pm matinee showings of both Beauty and the Beast and Moana. We had no trouble finding seats. I’d like to comment specifically on the line/seating for the Moana show as many recommended lining up an hour early. We went to the matinee and got there 30 minutes early. No line, no wait, and doors were open. We walked right into the 4th floor balcony and sat right down. Multiple chairs stayed open up there until right before the show started. I guess if you’re dying for a front row seat, by all means line up early, but this is not necessary if you aren’t picky. General Activities: there was always something to do. Plenty of activities for 18+ only and plenty for the family to do together or kids to do in the kids club. This is one thing that’s exceptional about Disney in my opinion. Something to do for everyone all the time. Bibbiti Bobbiti Boutique (sp?): was so much fun, even for my mature for her age 10 year old. We purchased a dress prior to sailing as I was concerned they wouldn’t have the princess she wanted in her size, though when I looked they had a large variety and many size options. We got the $99 carriage experience which included her hair, makeup, nails, crown, a NICE backpack, and t shirt. Our Fairy Godmother Apprentice even hand wrote my daughter a special note the day after, thanking her for coming. Super special. Well, that’s all I can think of!
