7 Nights Alaska Southbound Glacier Cruise

Celebrity Summit, great job

Embarkation, excellent, meal quality, taste, presentation etc. very proffessional and delicious. Room service food and drinks, excellent. Best coffee on the planet. Room steward best we’ve seen (and we’ve seen numerous). Ship crew, proffessional, quiet, efficient and well presented cordial. Ship shops and shows. Very nice and shows really good. Good music, good comedians, good dancers, the dancers doing the aerial stuff also very professional and quite entertaining. The excursions white railroad, lumberjack show, crab feast, glacier hiking, gondola, it was all best quality and value for the money spent. The captain worked into the glacier area and gave us a Birds Eye view of the beautiful glacier and scenes. From the ship we saw dolphins, whales, eagles. We also saw three bears and a mother bear in the distance on one of the nature hikes. We celebrate our anniversary. The crew presented us with a small cake and candles and sang at our table. Debark smooth. Summit 10/10

Cruise of a lifetime

We upgraded to a Celebrity Suite and had access to The Retreat and Luminae. Absolutely worth the extra cost. Choose a cabin with a view of the inside passage. It’s simply incredible scenery the entire cruise. The food and service at Luminae were excellent. As were our room attendants. If you have a suite, it is not necessary to upgrade to other speciality restaurants. We did go to Tuscan Grille and were underwhelmed. Again great service but food just ok. And why people upgrade and then wear camo sweats to a restaurant is beyond us. If there was any issue on the boat it was other cruisers who aren’t aware of how their behaviour affects others. The Oceanview restaurant was more food station than buffet and had some great options for breakfast and lunch. Don’t miss The Hubbard Glacier excursion where you get upfront and personal with the glacier. In 15 years it may not be accessible by this excursion as it’s advancing. Overall we loved this ship and its crew. Thanks Celebrity.

Great Trip

The Summit had been in drydock to be refurbished so 99.9% of the ship's interior was new. Nothing wrong with the ship. Pool deck on sea days was crowded. Disembarkation on shore days was very smooth. Orchestra was exceptional as were the performers. Staff was very friendly and did their jobs extremely well in the cafeteria and our cabin attendant was EXCEPTIONAL. We had anytime dining but always had a window table at 5:00 PM. Embarkation was very smooth but the lady that tok our credit card information messed up so we had to redo later on the ship. Not many children on the cruise so difficult to rate how things went for them. Really enjoyed Old San Juan and although apprehensive based on past reviews we wandered all over downtown Nassau and the locals were extremely friendly as they passed us by. Celebrity is always a notch above the competition.
