Celebrity Continues To Be The Best

Celebrity continues to be the best cruise line at this price point, and after completing our 5th voyage with them, compares favorably to Princess, Holland America, and Royal Caribbean, who we've also sailed with. The Infinity is an older but well maintained ship, and the staff's friendliness and stellar service more than made up for it being an older ship. The buffet at breakfast and lunch offered tasty offerings and a satisfying variety of choices. Dinner in the main dining room was outstanding every evening, and our nightly servers were fantastic! We didn't try any specialty restaurants. Our cabin steward was also outstanding, as our balcony was clean and comfortable anytime we returned. Opting for excursions or roaming around seaports, we didn't peruse any daytime entertainment, but the nightly shows were amazing! A wonderful ship band and singing/dancing cast entertained cruisers with a couple of great shows, as well as a headliner singer and multi-instrument musician, all in a well-designed theatre. But in 9 cruise embarkations, I have never been a part of a slower check-in process. It didn't seem that Celebrity staff heeded the staggered check-in times, first waiting as a huge group in the central tent, then herded like cattle through the switch back lines. I've never seen this, it must have been almost an hour to get on board. Overall, I always recommend Celebrity to those inquiring into cruise line options.

Great Greek Isles cruise

Embarkation onto the ship in Athens was an absolute breeze. From dropping off our bags to walking up the gangway onto the ship took all of 30 minutes. The ship was clean and the common areas had a facelift. The food at the buffet for breakfast and lunch were fine. The food in the main restaurant, Trellis was consistently good, as the six in our party were happy with all courses served. The stage entertainment was the best we have seen from all the other Celebrity cruises we have taken. The acrobatic Chernov Brothers and Laura Broad , a singer were fantastic. The excursions were either very good or excellent. Seeing the burial chamber of Alexander the greats father ( Phillip II) was the highlight as the chamber held so many magnificent artifacts. This excursion was in the northern port of Thessaloniki. For deal or no deal they stopped giving cruises away as the top prize was $250 casino credit. I was chosen to spin the wheel but it was not as exciting with the cruise being taken off the wheel. I highly recommend the itinerary the ship went on ( Crete, Mykonos which with Santorini are magical, Ephesus and Kavala.

Celebrity Infinity Greek / Turkey Cruise

The Infinity is showing its age, especially our cabin bathroom, but overall, the ship is well maintained and clean. We noticed that common area furnishings had been replaced since we cruised on this ship in December 2023. Our state room attendant, service desk staff, and all dining staff, provided outstanding service, exceeding our expectations. The food was good, especially in the main dining room. We enjoyed the entertainment. There were non-stop activities, with our favorite being the ABBA sing-along dance party. We would have preferred two days at one of the Greek Island ports, versus two days at Istanbul, but do realize this is a personal preference. We booked through Delta Cruises, and the fare included the classic drink package and basic internet. The basic internet met our needs to check email and send messages. We took advantage of a Celebrity Christmas Eve offer to upgrade our classic drink package to the premium drink package, allowing us to enjoy wonderful specialty coffees, teas, fresh fruit drinks & smoothies, multiple types of branded premium waters, and premium alcohol. At $19 plus 20% gratuity for a premium cocktail, or premium wine, the premium drink package worked to our advantage (again, a personal preference). This cruise line is LGBT friendly. This was our 4th cruise with Celebrity in the past 16 months, and we look forward to cruising on their newest ship, the Xcel, next year.
