GREAT CRUISE!!
I have been on Princess almost 300 nights over many years. Yes, Princess has changed but contrary to what you read on many reviews the changes are positive. Boarding is so much better with medallion technology, Princess mails it to your home and it lets you board the ship after a very quick passport check. (I arrived at pier in S.F. about 9:30,boarding began just after 10:00, first Alaskan amber beer at 11:00) I had cabin mid ship Deluxe balcony which was great. the cabin was in excellent condition. great bed and bedding, and kept spotless 2x a day by Jeffrey my stateroom steward who was always around and very helpful. Food in the Lido was good, made myself very good salads. Enjoyed seating outside in the back of the ship to eat and... I had fixed seating in the Michelangelo dinning room at 5:00 every night. Food was always good some nights Great, I enjoyed the fact that Alaskan seafood was on the menu every night, most nights 2-3 different Alaskan seafood items! GREAT better than years ago. Very good service from Arvi and Romie made dinner enjoyable. Speaking of food the International cafe on deck 5 was very good food when you wanted something smaller and quick. I did not go to the theater shows ( not my thing) but everyone I spoke with said they enjoyed them. Having the package, I enjoyed fresh squeezed orange juice every morning at the Calypso bar outside the Lido. The drink service was great! Being a beer drinker I appreciated the selection of Alaskan beers, 5 Alaskan brewing and a pilsner from another brewery that was very good, that the name escapes me. Drink service using the medallion to get a beer delivered to me worked great! Glacier viewing was great, so many places to go with great views. Explore the ship! You can always find areas of this ship that have very few or no passengers which is amazing on this size ship. This was a great cruise! Very good food , GREAT service, Fun time!.

What can I say about a perfect itinerary. From all my 20+ cruises to Slaska this was the best. Weather was great, got to see almost everything that I have seen before in many cruises but never all in one only thing I did not get to see was the mountains goats on the hill. The crew was fantastic, food was great the staff at Di Vinci first class from the 3 wonderful ladies at the front to the waiter. Great bartender at Good Spirits (Francisco) Samir at the Casino great bartender steward. Christian the multitalented entertainer he can sing from country to rancheras with no problem . The Offers staff was wonderful. It is always nice to see crew from previous sailing and even some from other ships that I have been on. I am sure not everyone will agree with me. There were some small inconveniences but nothing to change my opinion but I am sure some people will clinch to the petty issues and ruin there trip. To those people look at the positives. Thanks for a wonderful 22 days and till the next time

I enjoyed it so much I'm going through cruise-withdrawals and booking 2 more this year. A few things that I specifically liked about this voyage was Northern Lights at the Wheelhouse Bar 8:15-10:00pm each might. I'm low key. Country music, acoustic guitars, low key duos suit me more than either of the other extremes: formal evenings or hard electronic music. This nightly agenda fit my style perfectly. Skywalkers Lounge was well attended and had an appretize each night from a different restaurant. Also great keyboarder (Cristian). The room was surprisingly well maintained for an older ship (2008). Also I really appreciate the gluten free International Cafe options. Food was surprisingly good given that it was cruise ship vegan. No, I'm not known for being a foodie but the plates were pretty and food colorful. Had an issue ordering my medallion but actually boarded faster than those who received their medallions at home.
