Classy, not stuffy
Excellent ship and service. High end without being fru- fru. Food was excellent as was the service. We were happy with the wine choices, but some of our travel companions wanted more California Chardonnay, and they had only a limited quantity. That was not a problem for us, though we were perfectly content with every choice they provided. Highly recommend and we will be traveling on Seaborn again. We never heard the word “no“. Anything anyone wanted was provided. The staff also gets to know you and what you your likes and dislikes are. The only thing I would have liked, would’ve been someone overseeing/supervising bridge games as those didn’t materialize as we might have liked. They also had very limited Diet Coke. Overseas it’s typically Coke zero. The Diet Coke they had was fortified with fiber! That’s apparently a product of Japan. It still tasted like Coke zero which is not my thing. Not a huge problem in the general scheme of things though. Wonderful trip and we will be traveling Seaborn again

Blissful Passage!
This was technically a repositioning, but the time spent in Japan was great (although it was a late cherry bloom due to cold spring) even though we didn't get to see cherry trees at their height of bloom. But, nonetheless, it whet our appetite to return. Then a long passage east to Honolulu. Three days there and Kauai and then another 6 sixs to Long Beach. We enjoy the sea days because Encore is a great ship and the conversationalists and activities made them fun and never boring. It was a "Seabourn" experience of friends, treats, fantastic entertainment and fine dining -- all inclusive! We did have an extra day in Yokohama to repair a leaking shaft seal which made us miss Shimizu, but we will come back again! The Seabourn crew is the best -- and it was a thoroughly enjoyable experience! Oh, and Captain Andrew Pedder, and CD Joe Altamira were tops! It was the first time we have had a bridge tour while at sea! We highly recommend the itinerary and will return to Japan for a longer immersion. Thank you Captain Pedder and the Seabourn Encore fabulous crew!

A Lovely time on Seabourn Encore.
We have sailed with Seabourn previously, this is our fourth cruise with them. We chose this itinerary because its close to where we live (Cyprus) its only 1 hr 20 minutes to Istanbul. We flew the same day and boarded the ship. The boarding went very smoothly, we were a bit late boarding so we went straight to our spa penthouse suite. We upgraded thanks to an offer from Seabourn, a paid upgrade. We were pleased we did, the suite is quite large, with a lovely wrap around balcony. Overall, we had a fantastic cruise, the crew were amazing, we like Seabourn square a lot, the staff are friendly and helpful the coffee shop is great. The only down side is that they dont open the main restaurants for lunch? We like trivia so that was special, we won twice which was good. Dining: The Colonnade is OK but its a buffet service, the food is good, good choice however its only Luke warm. We dined in the main restaurant, the food was very good as was the service. The speciality restaurant the Solis is very nice however, you may only get one booking because it is very small, it is the best restaurant on the ship. We also had "in suite" dining sadly it was not good. The portions for my meal was tiny and once again the food was Luke warm. The service in the bars was very good, both the club on deck five and the observation bar. The entertainment was very good, we went to see the ex head of MI5, she was very good, the Seabourn dancers we also a delight. Disembarkation was very smooth, no problems there. Internet: Because we were in a Penthouse suite we were allowed 4 devices, the speed was good.
