Exactly what you want from a cruise.
As a seasoned traveler I have to say one of the best vacations I’ve ever had. Oh yes there were some minor things I could complain about, like getting a Bloody Mary at breakfast or that the shower was very small. But the fabulous crew and staff made up for any minor challenges. Azamara has won me over. I love the smaller ship, fantastic itinerary, simply amazing cuisine and how attentive the crew and staff were. I’ve always like sailing with HAL until my last cruise, which showed me that HAL is going in the wrong direction. You want a fabulous vacation try Azamara I can’t imagine you would be disappointed. If you are tell someone and they will go out of their way to make you feel special. The way cruising should be. I’ve already booked my next cruise with Azamara. Can’t wait! You will not be disappointed, promise .

Better than expected!
We did a 13 day intensive cruise of France, Spain and Portugal. We had 10 ports of call including Sevilla that is not an ocean port city, but because the Journey in rather small, we were able to go up the Guadalquivir River to the heart of Sevilla. The size of the ship was perfect. We knew many of our fellow travelers by the end of the cruise. Many of the staff knew our names, or at least what we ordered. Very friendly staff and crew. I loved the laundry on 7th floor. Made friends there too, and had clean clothes the whole trip. Food was better than any other cruise we have taken. Sushi was particularly good. No casino, no water slides, no Broadway plays, or musicals, but fit our preferences well. Highlight was a concert organized by the cruise line in the cave that lies beneath the Rock of Gibraltar. Free to all, they filled the cave with candlelight on the floor, and lighting bouncing off the cave interior. Bagpipes, orchestra and choral group from Gibraltar. The next night there was a barbecue with live music and dancing on the pool deck. Very fun. Will certainly cruise with them again and maybe only with them.

The cruise was exactly as we expected
This was our fourth Azamara Cruise and we have also recently been on five other Cruise Lines. This cruise was just as we expected, with nothing bad. The ship was in good condition (for its age). I made good use of the Coffee Shop and I always received good service and good coffee (and the hours it is open wase good). The food at the coffee shop is basic but adequate. The food in the buffet and the main dinning room was also good and we didn't have a bad meal. The quality was similar to what I had experienced on other similar cruiselines but the food range in the buffet at dinner time I felt was sometimes a bit repetitive and limited. We spent a lot of time in the observation lounge which is a nice room. There was good musical entertainment there at various times of the day and evening (but there needs to be more). The entertainment in the main theatre we felt was poor (but other people said that the comedian was good). We did three excursions, and two of the three were too rushed and not enough time had been allocated to do them. Both the embarkation and disembarkation were excellent and were vey well organised. Azamara probably does one of the worst Musker drill of all of the cruiselines we have experienced.
