Ship information
Carnival Sunshine

Everything the sunlight touches on Carnival Sunshine has been doused with an extra dose of fun. There's plenty to find atop this ship, where you can spend your days being kissed by the warm rays of the sun. Visit the biggest Serenity area ever, featuring three decks, plenty of recliners... and even a waterfall. Carnival WaterWorks™, our onboard waterpark, doesn't just deliver the favorites... this one debuted the slick Speedway Splash slide. There's also SportSquare™, where you can let your inner champion run free (around the jogging track), traverse the Ropes Course high up above, or even engage in a little one-on-one, from ping pong to foosball to giant chess.
When you're on your Carnival Sunshine cruise, step out of the sun and try out some shade (and it's some pretty cool shade, at that). The first thing you'll see is the Sunshine Atrium... and let's just say first impressions count. From there, check out dining options — this ship has everything under the Carnival sun — like Guy's Burger Joint™, BlueIguana Cantina™, Fahrenheit 555 Steakhouse™ and JiJi Asian Kitchen®. Some of the greatest Carnival bars are here: RedFrog Pub®, BlueIguana Tequila Bar™, SkyBox™ Sports Bar and Alchemy Bar®... plus the already-classic Havana Bar™! You'll enjoy musical revues from Playlist Productions™, where songs you know and love come to life on stage.
When you find yourself between the Carnival Sunshine and some actual sunshine, fun at sea is guaranteed.

Havana Bar
A spot that's intriguing by night and friendly anytime, step into the Havana Bar™ and be transported to antebellum Cuba preserved today in old postcards, vintage literature… and classic delicacies. Take in great ocean views as you try something authentically Cuban, like café Cubano (that’s Cuban coffee!) or handcrafted Cuban cocktails (think daiquiris, mojitos and more). And this spot definitely doesn’t cool down when the sun goes down, with music and dancing keeping things hot well into the night.
RedFrog Pub
Get into an island state of mind before you even set foot on one. RedFrog® Pub is our laid-back, no-worries, oh-so-lively Key West-inspired pub. Sample Caribbean fare, dominate at the foosball table, enjoy some sweet tunes from live musicians and sip our tasty signature private-label brew, ThirstyFrog® Red. So kick back and feel the island vibe come to life. You’ll be a local here before you know it.
Dining Options

Guy's Burger Joint
We went looking for someone to help us grill up the best burgers at sea, and we found just the guy. Carnival has teamed up with best-selling author, restaurateur and Food Network personality Guy Fieri to bring all the authentic appeal of a roadside burger shack to Guy’s Burger Joint, the cool poolside spot for hot burgers and hand-cut fries. Try a fresh-off-the-grill burger Guy’s way, or take it off-road to our toppings bar and truly make it your own.

Bluelguana Cantina
Nobody knows Mexican dining like a blue iguana. Well, our blue iguana, at least. That’s why it should come as no surprise that the BlueIguana Cantina™ features freshly made tacos and burritos stuffed specially for your enjoyment. Throw our homemade tortillas and salsa into the mix, and you have a casual dining experience that will make you say “mmmm” (which is actually Iguanese for “more, please”).

Low Expectations | Amazing Experience
I recently sailed on the Carnival Sunshine for an 8-day cruise (Aug 23 departure). It had been over 17 years since my last Carnival experience, and I’ll admit I was a bit skeptical. In recent years I’ve cruised with Virgin (which I loved) and Norwegian (which I also enjoyed). But the price point, itinerary, and length of this cruise made Carnival worth trying again—and I’m glad I did. To my surprise, my expectations were exceeded. The food was solid—actually better than Virgin when it came to the buffet and main dining restaurant. I skipped the liquor packages this time and found that buying a bottle and paying per drink worked better for me, as I only have 2–3 drinks a day. The vibe on board was lively but enjoyable. Plenty of kids and senior citizens, but neither detracted from the experience. The 8-day length seemed to filter out any rowdiness, and the atmosphere was fun, positive, and well-balanced. A big shoutout to the **Fun Squad—Prince Ahkeem and his crew—**for keeping the energy high, and to Cruise Director James Love. He brought his own style, humor, and swag that really made the entertainment pop. Between the games at sea, shows, sunbathing, and great port days, we didn’t waste a single second. If there’s one downside, it’s the internet—it was spotty and unreliable. And as for those “fans” some guests bring out when the song comes on—let’s just say they’re loud, distracting, and feel more like weapons than props. I could do without those. The music mix was fantastic—hip hop, R&B, Latin, 80s/90s throwbacks, and even some rock. I loved the diversity on board, both in the entertainment and the guests. In short, Carnival Sunshine impressed me. I went in skeptical but left as a happy cruiser. I’d definitely sail Carnival again.

I Had the Time of My Life!
This was our first cruise as a family, and we had such an incredible time, that my husband and I (and our kids) did not want to leave. I couldn't believe how seamless and well-organized everything was. Boarding, excursions, daily itinerary, and disembarking - everything ran like a well-oiled machine. We could not have asked for a better Room Attendant. Sidik went above and beyond, and honestly, by the end of our cruise, he felt more like extended family. The entertainment was... so far beyond my expectations. I could not believe the caliber talent, not to mention the quality of the shows. I told my mom the minute I got back that she wouldn't have believed it. It was quite literally like watching Broadway at sea - and I've seen two (actual) Broadway shows. The food was consistently delicious, the crew treated us like they had known us our entire lives. They were fun, kind, and always put safety first. We met the Captain multiple times. He made it a point to talk to as many people as possible, each day. Our Cruise Director, James Love, was absolutely everywhere, all the time. I'm pretty sure he doesn't sleep! He was so fun and engaging and really made the cruise entertaining and each day an absolute blast! The excursions were just amazing! We could not have asked for a better vacation. The first thing my 15-year-old and 9-year-old asked my husband and I when we got to the car: "When can we do this again?!" We are so pleased with our time on the Sunshine and in the Bahamas, and are already planning our next cruise with Carnival. If you're thinking about cruising - do it!
