Room 8736
Loved the cruise! We mostly kept to ourselves but we loved the food, especially Onda and Food Republic. We had the drink package but I felt like it pushed us to drink more than we usually would. We had spa passes and enjoyed relaxing in there every day. If you do go to the spa, please remember to keep your voice down:) My husband loved the Beatles shows (I didn’t attend) and we both enjoyed Choir of Man. We had an oversized balcony in room 8736. Bed is near the closet. No other balconies could look in from the side but it is open on top. The last night someone poured ice/water from the Spice H20 deck and it landed on me. Otherwise it was fine but next time we’ll go with a smaller balcony for just the two of us. Employees smoke outside at an employee area in the front front of the ship on the 8th floor and we smelled some of that when on the balcony. Having room service in the morning was great but you have to be specific about what you want, like butter for your toast, ketchup, extra cream, etc.

NCL ENCORE ALASKA CRUISE
The cruise overall was excellent. The Encore is a modern ship with a wide variety of bars, restaurants, and entertainment options. The food was of good quality, the cabins were clean and comfortable, and the entertainment was enjoyable. Special thanks to General Manager Igor Futivic for his outstanding organization, hospitality, and service. The excursions offered were diverse, interesting, and educational, adding great value to the trip. However, one area that requires serious reconsideration is the stop in Victoria, BC. The experience there was disappointing and felt unnecessary. The land tour was poorly organized, and the guide’s behavior was unprofessional. For example, when passengers boarded the bus and found it hot and stuffy, the air conditioning was only turned on after someone requested it. The guide responded with a remark about “toasted Americans,” which she appeared to find amusing but was inappropriate and offensive. Additionally, the ship’s arrival time in Victoria at 8:30 PM made the planned excursion to the botanical garden ineffective, as it was already dark and nothing could be appreciated. While the garden is likely beautiful during the day, visiting at night made the excursion pointless. I would strongly recommend that the cruise line reconsider including this stop in the itinerary. Aside from this, the entire experience was outstanding, and I would gladly recommend this cruise to others.

Great first cruise
First cruise. Easy to board and disembark. Lots of entertainment and great food. Great Indian Buffett, smoked fish dip in American Diner and Rueben’s at the local. Yes to washey washey. Saw several staff sanitizing high touch areas like door handles and stair railings. Food and service were stellar at Cagneys. Beautiful wine glasses for red wine and decadent chocolate dessert really stood out Enjoyed choir of man and was even invited to go on stage for audience participation and provided more free beer. Utilized the games and library room to play cards with another family we met during the Mr Sexy legs contest. Our cabin steward Arif was fantastic. Shared some tips to us first timers and kept our room spotless. Enjoyed our ports. Only Victoria did we have a backlog trying to get off upon arrival. Stayed 9 deck and liked to location immensely for access to walking the boardwalk on deck 8 and to main dining rooms and the atrium for entertainment.
