Overall Great Cruise with Disney
Our daughter booked the cruise for her and her boys. She asked us if we would like to go, so we said sure, if we can get a cabin. We called Disney Vacation Club, they allowed us to use our points and we paid the difference. We were able to get the last accessible cabin (wife is in a wheelchair). The experience was up to Disney excellence. The dining is a different restaurant on a rotating basis. The food and service was excellent. We were concerned about having kids everywhere, no need to worry -- There's an adult only area! Kids have 'day care' for toddlers, older kids and teens have a separate area. My daughter and I found a gem in the Cadallaic lounge and they have a great selection of Single Malt Scotch! My only complaint would be the bulkheads and getting over them with a wheelchair. We also had an issue with the accessible toilet chair. Unfortunately my wife slipped, but the medics helped her. They immediately changed out the chair, but the damage was done. The ports (Sagway, Junenau and Ketichican) were nice. But, they can be difficult to navigate with a wheel chair, due to the tides. Overall, it was a great cruise, will definitely cruise with Disney agian.

Incredible Alaska Cruise on the Disney Wonder
We sailed on the Disney Wonder to Alaska this July, and it was an amazing trip from start to finish. We stayed the night before at the Pan Pacific Hotel in Vancouver, which is right above the cruise terminal at Canada Place — super convenient! We just took the elevator down with our luggage the next morning and walked straight into check-in. Boarding was fast and organized, and Disney staff were friendly and welcoming right from the start. The ship was beautiful — clean, cozy, and full of Disney touches without being overwhelming. Our stateroom was comfortable with plenty of space, and our servers and cabin host were absolutely fantastic. The food was great every night, and the shows were Broadway-quality. There were tons of family activities, but also quiet areas for relaxing, so it worked perfectly for everyone. We did have to skip the glacier viewing because of bad weather, which was disappointing, but we made the best of it. In Juneau, we rented a car last minute from Like a Local Car Rental, which was just a short walk from the port. It was quick and affordable, and we drove out to Mendenhall Glacier on our own. Being able to explore at our own pace was amazing — we walked the trails, took photos, and even spotted a few tiny chunks of ice that washed up on the lake shore. In Skagway, we did the White Pass and Yukon Route train ride, which was definitely worth it. The scenery was unbelievable — waterfalls, mountains, and deep valleys — and the narration about the gold rush made it even more interesting. In Ketchikan, we loved walking around Creek Street and visiting the local shops and totem poles, all within walking distance from the dock. Disembarkation in Vancouver was smooth and well organized. Disney gave clear instructions the night before, and we were off the ship within about 30 minutes of our assigned time. We chose to stay an extra night at the Fairmont Waterfront Hotel, which is right across the street from the terminal — an excellent choice if you’re flying out the next day or just want to relax before heading home. We rolled our luggage right over from the port, checked in easily, and spent the afternoon exploring downtown Vancouver. The next morning, we took a taxi to the airport (about 30 minutes) and had no issues at all. Even though the weather didn’t fully cooperate, this cruise was unforgettable. The views were incredible, the crew was amazing, and the Disney service really made it special. If you’re planning this trip, stay near the port before and after the cruise, pack layers for all kinds of weather, and don’t be afraid to explore on your own — that’s where some of the best memories happen.
