Fabulous time on the Disney Wish!

From the time we checked in at the airport cruise transfer area at the airport we knew we were in good hands. The ship was immaculate and the staff was efficient and friendly. The programming ran the gamut of ages and interests but was 98% Disney themed. The nightly shows were fantastic and Broadway level and the first run movies available in the theaters was a nice touch. The in room TVs had both live TV and Disney on demand. The app used to communicate the schedule also included streaming Disney shows to entertain the little ones and a messaging feature to keep you in touch with your shipmates. The food was great with a wide variety to cater to various tastes. The churro waffles for breakfast are not to be missed! We didn’t do any of the specialty dining but didn’t miss it as the included food options were tasty and the service was great. I’ve heard other say their night meals were served too slowly, but we didn’t find that to be the case for us. It was great to have included soda, coffee, and hot chocolate on the main pool deck and breakfast/lunch buffet. There were lots of fun drink options, both alcoholic and not. The alcoholic drinks were not wimpy either.

Excellent Cruise.

This is my first cruise in many years, and so I did not know what to expect. Many of my friends who take cruises suggested that I take a Disney cruise. I was told that they are more expensive than some other cruise lines, but their level of service is top of the line. I took a 3-day cruise to Nassau and Castaway Cay aboard the Disney ship, the Wish. I was very impressed with so many things, from the caliber of the performances to the quality of the food. Every staff member was pleasant and made the stay special in ways like towel animals on the bed and friendly reminders of where to be for the fireworks. The cruise stopped in Nassau for one day and Castaway Cay for the other day, traveling between them at night. The weather was perfect and the ride was exceptionally smooth. They offer lots of shipboard activities every day. Three challenges on the trip were 1) the rotational dining method and 2) closed shops on the ship while in port, and 3)early luggage pickup on the last night. The rotational dining means that you will be seated with other groups each night while experiencing each of the 3 main restaurants. The closed shops are due to Bahamian law. The early luggage pickup is to enable your luggage to be ready on the pier as you approach customs. The embarkation and disembarkation were both very easy and well-explained. Overall, it was an excellent cruise, and I am already planning other adventures after seeing how professionally they handled this trip.

When can I go again?

We did a cruise without our kids and it was unbelievable. Rotating through the three dining rooms was outstanding. Our favorite was the Arendelle room. Oaken was hilarious. The adults only areas were nice. We found a great place to relax in the shade that wasn't adults only and had an extended time of reading/snapping as well. We were on the 10th level so just below the buffet and pools, which was great. The shows were outstanding. The Little Mermaid was done very well and the effects were great. The Genie in Aladdin was also great and the show was well done. We really enjoyed the BBQ all day eatery (try the brisket!). The service was great with multiple times a day of our room being cleaned/set up. The room was a great size and we loved our balcony. The split bathrooms were excellent as it felt less constrained. The adults only pools could get crowded but we found a place to sit and relax without a problem. There appeared to be one employee on the ship who's job was to keep kids out of the adults only area. That was very nice. He did a great job at doing that nicely. The Aquamouse was a lot of fun too. Highly recommend the Wish.
