Amazing first cruise
This was our first cruise. Check in/luggage drop was quick and easy. Getting on the boat was easy. Wow what a first impression when you walk into the piazza. Beautiful. The whole ship was beautiful and very very clean. We had an inside room. We thought it might be too small, my son is 6ft9”. So we were pleasantly surprised at how big it actually was. All very clean and had everything you’d need. The food was lovely. The medallion is a very clever thing and very useful. All the staff were amazing and great at their job. The shows and entertainment were so good and we had lots of fun. Really didn’t want the cruise to end. We have already booked our next cruise for September 2026. I would highly recommend staying on the sky princess. The ports we stopped at were great. We didn’t use the princess excursions. We did the hop on hop off bus at Copenhagen and Oslo. At kristiansand we got on the little land train at the port which takes you into the town. We didn’t stop at skagen as the weather was bad and it would have been dangerous.

For us, the best!
Our first time with Princess, and it won't be our last. Best service we've experienced in several years of cruising. First class food, superb entertainment, felt like royalty. Despite Sky being a big ship, it did not feel overcrowded, unlike Arvia! Lots of sunbeds, and the medallion facility allowing delivery of food to where ever you are on the shop is sheer self indulgence The quality and range of the food was superb, and we ate in the main dining room on most evenings, with a couple of pizzas We bought the plus package, but never managed to get anywhere near the limit on the drinks! Wee pips have preferred more piZza and less alcohol being offered! The decor throughout the ship was beautiful, with the piazza or central atrium top class with live entertainment every evening. Booked another on Sky's sister ship. Wonderful itinerary, even four sea days in a row were wonderful. The movies under the stars system was excellent, with a crystal clear picture and superb sound even in bright sunlight and lots of people on deck. That says it all. Thank you Princess

Fjords cruise on Sky Princess
This is the second time we have cruised on the beautiful Sky Princess and once again she did not disappoint. We Aloha which is a standard balcony cabin which was light and spacious. We loved that we could stand on our balcony in our nightwear at 5.30 in the morning as we sailed into ports on the stunning fjords without having to go up on deck. Our room attendant was Albert who kept our room clean and tidy and was always welcoming and smiling. He made sure everything we used was topped up and ready for use. We cannot fault any staff onboard. Everyone appeared to be happy in their work, smiling and welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. We once again found the food to be of a very high standard and thoroughly enjoyed the food on deck 17 in particular. We can recommend the pizza, burgers, hotdogs and fries but we were a bit disappointed with the ice cream at Swirls which was very icy and didn't really taste of anything. World fresh marketplace was amazing with the sheer variety of food on offer and the quality was generally exceptional. The staff in this area are very attentive and asked if you would like a drink usually within a few minutes of being seated. There are hand washing facilities and hand gel at either end of this area and you are encouraged to wash you hand before entering which a great idea as everyone uses the same serving spoons. On this cruise we did not bother with the main dining rooms as last time we didn't find them any better than the marketplace and obviously there is a lot less choice. We bought the princess plus package which we feel is well worth the cost. It covers Wi-Fi for 1 device (you can alternate between different devices), drinks package and staff gratuities. It meant we could enjoy our cruise and not expect a big bill at the end of our holiday. We did find the Wi-Fi a bit hit and miss at time. There was a period of 2-3 days when my husband couldn't get access but I am sure he could have sought out staff who would have been happy to help. The princess medallion is a fantastic bit of technology. . Unlocking stateroom doors and being able to pay for drinks and good with it. We took advantage of ocean now for ordering drinks to our state room and around the ship and found the service to be very good. Obviously on sea days service can be a bit slower but this is fully understandable. There is also a machine in guest services which you can use your medallion to print off a list of anything you will be charged for. Even if you are not expecting any charges I recommend you get a print out. We did this and discovered we had been charged for the premium desserts which should have been free with the princess plus package. We went straight to guest services who removed the charges without issue. If we had got home and then discovered the charges it would have been much harder to sort out. We loved the movies under the stars, snuggled up in the blankets which are provided and watching from the comfy loungers as the ship goes dark and looks beautiful light up with sunsets in the distance. The showed reasonably current movies (the same movies are also available in your stateroom) sports matches and even music concerts. We watched a couple of shows while onboard, the voice boys were pretty good but not really our cup of tea but the rock opera show was a feast for the eyes and ears. I wish it had last longer than the 45 minutes it ran for. There is always something to do onboard day or night, it is amazing value for money in comparison to other cruise lines. There is something for everyone, young or old. The retreat is a lovely area on the ship, plenty of sun loungers, a couple of jacuzzi's, pool and bar. No children are allowed in this area which can be nice if you are cruising during the school holidays. Considering the ship has around 3500 passengers at full capacity you would never know it. It never felt overcrowded to us. We always managed to get a sun lounger on deck, even on sea days and never had to wait more that a few minutes to be served at bars. Seating in the bars at night, particularly if they are putting on entertainment can be tricky but get there early and you will get a seat, The same can be said for Princess theatre, get there at least 20 minutes early. People still hold seats for people even though there is an announcement saying not to do this. The fjords destinations we went to were stunning, in particular Skjolden (we recommend Skjolden Llamas excursion) and Olden (Loen skylift excursion well worth booking). Haugesund for us was a bit boring but the fact it was heavy rain really didn't help, I'm sure it is a lovely place when the sun is shining. Stavanger was a lovely place, it was a public holiday so sadly a lot of places were shut when we visited but we still enjoyed it. Embarkation was very easy and we were on the ship 10 minutes before our boarding time of 12-3pm. Disembarkation was well organised we felt but next time we will not keep our suitcases with us as it took us around 30 minutes to get down to deck 5 in the lifts. Without the suitcases we could have took the stairs or squeezed in the lifts. We are cruising on sky princess again next year and cannot wait. The fact that we familiar with the ship and what she has to offer means we are so relaxed as soon as we set foot onboard. So far we have not found a reason to choose a different cruise line. Keep up the good work Princess cruises.
