Dining Options
Britannia
Our main restaurant invites you to dine on a wide range of dishes in effortless style and comfort.
With white-gloved waiters, linen-dressed tables, a sweeping staircase, and a balcony style mezzanine, the grandeur of the Britannia Restaurant provides an authentic sense of occasion. On Gala Evenings, the atmosphere is heightened further as guests are invited to dress in their finest evening wear.
The five course evening menu changes daily and features a tempting array of British and regional cuisine, from smoked salmon and spring lamb to Indonesian chicken and papaya salad.
The breakfast menu offers a variety of fresh juice, pastries and cereals as well as a full selection of hot favourites cooked to order. Lunch can be as simple or as extravagant as you like, with a four course menu of appetisers, salads and more substantial entrées like pasta classics or fragrant curries.
All meals here are included in your fare. When you book your voyage on a Cunard Fare, you'll be invited to select a dining option. Choose from our standard set times of Early or Late Dining, or enjoy the freedom to dine at your convenience with Open Dining, where you can make a reservation at a time that suits you.
If you choose Open Dining, there are two options once on board:
Visit the Britannia Restaurant in person to request a table, where you can choose to dine with your party or share a table with fellow guests. During peak times if your requested table size is not available, you will be offered a pager, so you can relax with a pre-dinner drink or perhaps take in some entertainment while you wait.
Alternatively, you can check availability via My Voyage, where you can book in advance or join a live virtual queue and keep track of how many people are ahead of you.
For breakfast and lunch, simply refer to your Daily Programme for opening times and visit the restaurant at your convenience.
During the day, the relaxed ambience of the Britannia Restaurant has a dress code to match, while after 6.00pm it’s smart attire, and dress to impress on our much-anticipated Gala evenings.

Britannia Club
An intimate and exclusive dining venue for Britannia Club guests.
If you’re staying in a Britannia Club Balcony stateroom, you’ll have the option to take breakfast, lunch, and dinner in this restaurant which is reserved exclusively for Britannia Club guests.
A beautifully designed art deco theme creates an atmosphere that is both classic and contemporary. Generously sized windows allow you to enjoy sea views while you dine.
White-gloved waiting staff add to the sense of occasion, as does the cooking. A classically inspired, flawlessly executed à la carte menu is the centrepiece, or you can choose from the five course Britannia Restaurant menu. Both menus change daily.
In the evening, you’ll be free to dine at any time between 6.30pm and 9.00pm, with a table reserved for you throughout your voyage. During the day, casual dress is welcomed, with smart attire (jacket optional) after 6.00pm, except on Gala Evenings when we invite you to dress in black tie.
Dining at the Britannia Club Restaurant is included in your fare if you are staying in a Britannia Club Balcony stateroom. There is no need to book.

Loved Queen Anne!
Having read earlier reviews about Queen Anne, we were intrigued about what the experience would be like. It seemed that most reviews focused on how the ship and experience differed from other Cunard ships. We arrived at Southampton with an open mind and a positive attitude. From our first steps onboard we felt that this was going to be a different experience from our previous Cunard sailings but in a good way. The ship is stunning, with a real attention paid to the small design details. The public spaces feel bright and welcoming with quality, comfortable furnishings and decor. The bars and lounges flow well and offer beautiful ocean views. Our balcony cabin was well laid out and provided sufficient storage space for our 12 night voyage. The bed is very comfortable and the bathroom offers a roomy shower with ample space for toiletries. We ate in the Britannia Club restaurant, which is larger than on other Cunard ships, but is partitioned into smaller sections providing the intimate feel of a small restaurant. The food and service were very good. As a vegetarian I was delighted that the menu included a larger selection of vegetarian dishes, with the option of pre-ordering from a special menu in case I did not find anything to my liking on the main menu. The portions served are smaller but perfectly sized to allow you to enjoy several courses without that over indulged feeling and also preventing food wastage. The addition of the Wellness Cafe enhanced our overall dining experience. The food served at breakfast and lunch was fresh, tasty and nutritious. The plant based burger at the Pavilion Pool Cafe was one of the best we have ever tasted. The ship sailed at almost full capacity, yet despite this, the spaces never felt crowded. We always found available chairs in the bars and theatre. There were even loungers available in the covered Pavilion Pool area despite everyone seeking shelter from the colder Norwegian weather. Entertainment was to a high standard with a varied selection of fascinating Cunard Insight talks, guest entertainers and the excellent productions of Brief Encounter and Price & Prejudice (sort of). We booked tickets to see Noir at the Bright Lights Society and enjoyed an hour of fun and silly humour. The gym was excellent with plenty of space and an abundance of quality machines and free weights. Now, was everything onboard perfect. The answer is no. The production show Imagination relied too heavily on stage technology instead of highlighting the skills of the excellent dancers. The Queens Room would benefit from additional seating, particularly in the evening or when a show is being held there. But despite these minor issues we disembarked our 12 night cruise having had a wonderful time. If one boards Queen Anne with an open mind and avoids unnecessary comparisons to the other Cunard ships, we feel confident that they will too.

Lovely ship; lovely cruise
This was only our second Cunard cruise and after a disappointing first cruise on Queen Victoria, we only booked as Cunard seemed the only line to guarantee Latin and Ballroom dancing and no cargo shorts and flip flops at dinner. Having heard the noise about Queen Anne’s problematic first year, I did phone up to cancel, and was only put off by the cost of change; we resolved to give it a go! Cunard makes no secret that this ship aims to set their future direction, aimed at a younger and more active audience; those growing up in the 70’s and 80’s rather than the 50’s and 60’s. If you contrast and compare the current adverts on the TV with the current clientele, there is a significant difference; with many current “Cunarders “being elderly, many not very mobile and more likely to order tea, coffee or tap water than cocktails and premium coffee. So what was it like? We loved the ship, spacious, modern, but still with a Deco feel, the Cabins were small, but storage was Ok other than a very short shirt wardrobe, the horror stories were way off the mark. Bathrooms were small but perfectly formed with excellent proper showers. Service was good with a very enthusiastic crew from all over the world. Main dinning room was good, service was good and the wine waiter was attentive and helpful, the atmosphere was formal but not pompous. The wellness cafe is brilliant with healthy breakfasts and lunches washed down with fresh juices. The Buffet ( Artisan’s food hall) was good in that passengers could not touch the food, though many did try, it was comical to see them stopped by a glass screen, the food was Ok, but not very adventurous. We ate at Aranya the specialty Indian and it was good, but I’d have preferred to pay for individual dishes rather than a per hand charge as it was too much food for us. The itinerary was great, we enjoyed every port and the two excursions we booked were excellent value for money. Formal nights were traditional and enjoyable, most people making a good effort with some very stylish outfits indeed! Sunbed hogging is a big problem that Cunard just avoided dealing with, some passengers had a bed in the sun and one in the shade, but we always found a seat in the end. People get up very early, reserve a bed then disappear, it’s tedious, but to be expected of British tourists! The promenade deck goes right round the third deck and there is no smokers on it which is great, it is a bit narrow in places , but if you go single file you can always pass. It was not great for runners though a couple tried; if you’re in training the treadmills in the gym make more sense. We took the drinks package and for us it worked out to be good value and spared us a big bill at the end. We happily paid the gratuities as all the staff we met earned it in our view. The entertainment was good we saw several shows and all of the bands and musicians were good and could keep time. The smoke machines were a bit overused and this caused lots of coughing; in Covid days lots of us would have been confined! The main issue was the dancing: no attempt was made to announce dances and it often became confused; with Disco dancers, Latin dancers, Sequence dancers and Line dancers competing for Queens Room dance floor at the same time, not always ending well. The “ dance hosts” were a Canadian and a Brazilian, who seemed to be more interested in showing off doing line dancing routines, and whilst the Canadian could actually dance and teach the Brazilian had a habit of shouting and whistling on the dance floor whilst moving around in a most bizarre and un-latin fashion ( nobody must have told him about never whistling on a ship!) They were undoubtedly the worst “ dance couple” we have ever experienced. I suspect they would have fitted in better on a Carnival “Party” cruise with an American audience as all the dancers on this cruise were British, we cringed when they appeared. The bright lights club becomes the night club after 10:30 and whilst the music was a bit repetitive dancers of all genres mingled and I have to say had a great time. But it did mean there were limited opportunities for disco dancers whilst the bands played for ballroom and latin dancers in the Queens room. We had two party nights with the bands and a Rat Pack tribute act really aimed at disco dancing with a bit of Rock and Roll, we enjoyed them; other than some of the traditional Cunard lot who kept complaining about people talking too loudly, including us! I’m not sure what their idea of a party night was but it was very clearly different to ours. Better coordination and communication about the dancing would have helped manage expectations better, I’m sure I think it’s only fair that all dancers get a fair share of the Queens room. Having some dedicated sessions would make life much easier in my opinion. We do Latin, Ballroom and Sequence, I like a bit of line dancing and all I need is some 80’s music to get up “ dad dancing”…with a bit more structure I think Queen Anne could make me a very happy bunny! We stayed in a standard Britannia class cabin, I’m not a fan of the Cunard Class system and the “ Grills “ does interrupt the flow of the ship when trying to get round, but to be honest I don’t care that much. We accidentally went up in the wrong lift and ended up in the ‘“Grills” entrance, I’ didn’t get the sense that that was where the real party was and that we were missing out! I think Cunard have got a big job on their hand as they manage the transition from one age group as their target audience to the next (the values and expectations are very different, those of us now in our sixties listened to the Sex Pistols and Motorhead, not Buddy Holly and Cliff Richard, but also went to dance classes as soon as we retired!) I think on Queen Anne they almost pulled it off, though I’m sure plenty of the “ old guard” will complain bitterly, had there been an itinerary on her in 2027 we fancied we probably would have booked. As dancers we had a great time, we danced lots and met lots of nice people, just what you want from a cruise…yes it could have been better but it was still very good! We never saw anyone like in the TV adverts no matter how many times I said “ Imagine, Imagine”…. but did we enjoy the cruise and like Queen Anne?…. The answer is a resounding yes!

Great first cruise on Cunard
Our first cruise on Cunard exceeded our expectations. We had seen some negative reviews about the Queen Anne, mostly in comparison to the other Queens. We found the ship to be elegant and in great condition. I can mention two small negatives: The "Queens Room" which is apparently a highlight on the other ships is rather ordinary on the Queen Anne. And the external profile of the ship is "chopped up," not very sleek. The public rooms are elegant without being gaudy and our balcony cabin was beautiful. A small negative for the cabin is that rather than one large clothes closet there are 3 narrow ones. The bathroom had a very nice, larger then average, shower. We bid on an upgrade to Britannia Club, and got it. That gave us a reserved table for two at all meals and a few other perks like early boarding. Service was excellent at every location and the food was very good. We are not food experts, but found it quite enjoyable. The selection in the buffet was not as great as we see on Princess, but it was certainly sufficient. Also the food is served in the buffet, rather than being "help yourself". The formal nights are taken seriously, so bring your tux or business suit or eat in the buffet. The entertainment was enjoyable, not fantastic. Quite a lot of covers of 60's and 70's rock, which we enjoyed. We did not try the Bright Lights Cabaret which has a cover charge. We have cruised on Disney, NCL, and Princess, and I think that this Cunard cruise was superior to the others in an overall sense, at least for us. The scones with afternoon tea were great!
