No. ATOL protection generally applies when your cruise booking includes a flight as part of a package arranged by an ATOL-protected company. A cruise-only booking, without flights, is not usually covered by ATOL.
If you book a cruise with a cruise line and the flights are included as part of the cruise package, the cruise line or the company selling the package should provide an ATOL Certificate. This confirms who is responsible for the ATOL protection.
Where My Kind of Cruise arranges a flight-inclusive cruise package, the booking is protected under the applicable ATOL arrangements and you will receive an ATOL Certificate. Keep this certificate with your booking documents, as it contains important details about the protection and the responsible company.
If you book a package holiday supplied by another ATOL-protected provider, that provider will normally issue the ATOL Certificate. Examples may include package holiday companies such as Jet2holidays, easyJet holidays, USAirtours or Gold Medal, depending on how your booking is arranged.
ATOL is designed to protect eligible flight-inclusive package holidays if the organiser becomes insolvent. Depending on the circumstances, it can help with a refund or arrangements to complete or return from your trip. ATOL is not travel insurance, so you should still consider suitable insurance for cancellation, medical costs, baggage and other risks.
Check your booking documents and make sure you receive an ATOL Certificate where applicable. The certificate should identify the ATOL holder and explain the arrangements covered. If you are unsure whether flights form part of your package, ask us before booking.
